I was at one time a restaurant manager myself, for Shoney's, and won just about every award there is to win, from cleanliness, customer satisfaction, employee morale, to food quality, profitability, etc, etc.. so I know about this industry. I finally got to take my kids to Bozo's recently, which made it the 4th generation of my family to eat there. Listening to the conversations, there were several folk saying same thing, old timers bringing grandkids, one fellow having proposed to his wife there... talking and chattering was friendly and easy, where hometown folk and strangers are all welcomed by a kind and gracious staff. There is a reason people keep returning for generations.. because you don't fix something that aint broke! Value, quality, cleanliness, quaintness, friendliness, serving sizes, attentiveness to your needs, cheerfulness.. rate it however you like, you can't go wrong going to Bozo's. Go once, and you too will start a family tradition for generations to come.. and they'll still be there no doubt. They are the world's oldest bar-b-que place now, so rest of such places are just wannabes. 5 stars all the way in most categories..the one weakness is this- if you want gold, crystal, silver, china, plushness, cloth napkins, bow-tied/tuxedo-wearing staff, valet parking, attendants in the restrooms, "modern" surroundings, etc.. go to the Peabody or Waldorf-Astoria or Hilton, etc.. but for down-home, "country" cookin', great food at good prices in a super friendly place..well now, there aint no place like this place anywhere near this place.. so this MUST be the place! Bozo's is simple the Best! YES!
I'm in Gallaway, not far from Mason. Are you still active on Yahoo? I have some ideas that I would like to share with you. I am a big supporter of local businesses. I am looking for input from others to see if we can come up with ideas to help promote local business.
Someone, please give me the truth. My understanding is that a big investor in the Bozo's chain is Issac Tiggret. I just read an article with a biography of his life. I have been to the Hard Rock Cafe in Israel and also, know that he is a devotee of Sai Baba. He indeed resides at Prashanti Nilayam, Baba's wonderful ashram. Sai Baba, Himself, teaches vegetarianism and these basic five tenants; love, peace, truth, service and non-violence. It makes no sense to me, that Sai Baba would have DIRECTLY asked Mr. Tiggret to invest in Bozo's. I'm sure the food is delicious for a carnivore. People choose to eat whatever they want. That's great! I simply can't IMAGINE Sai Baba, being personally involved in a bar and restaurant. He also suggest that a devotee refrain from drinking alcohol. Maybe, all of this is actually none of my business. I'm not sure. I would just appreciate hearing the truth. I have had an interview, with Sathya Sai Baba and I know one thing, for sure; whenever, you have the blessing of being spoken to by HIm, you are listening to the TRUTH! I also know of Issac Tiggret and have seen him when visiting the ashram. Whatever, the man does in life is between Him and Baba. I trust that, if I"m met to understand what is true, it will be revealed to me. If not, the entire matter is indeed, none of my business. Thank you, for giving me the opportunity to ask.
Sincerely,
Shanti
I guess you may or may not kow that Tigrett gave Sai baba the money for his Super Specialty Hospital where all medical servives are free to the poor. I have visited this hospital and there is nothing like it in the world. Perhaps this new venture, after the House of Blues that he also sold, will bring additional funds for these worthwhile purposes. Or maybe he'll turn them into BBQ tofu.
I won't hold my breath on that one.
Shanti, I am as puzzled about this as you! It is said that Sai baba won't enter a house where meat is served, following a Hindu tradition. I have also had the Grace to speak with Sai Baba
I'm confused by this BBQ venture, not judgemental, just confused.
Issac Tiggret is a big investor in the company. I worked there for 2 years and personally saw and met the guy. Don't know what his personal beliefs are, but he's entitltled to believe whatever it is. Good to know his history.
