    Best Italian food, second only to Italy, and even there some dishes are not as good as the ones at Altrudas, in Knoxville. Paul and his family have the best atmosphere for that romantic evening alone together, or even the entire family. The service and food are SECOND TO NONE...in Knoxville.

    My husband and I love this restaurant. We dine there for special occasions; birthdays, anniversary, it's Monday. The salad is about the best of any restaurant and the rolls liberally soaking in olive oil and garlic will tempt you to eat way too many. I reccomend this place over any supposedly Italian restaurant in Knoxville.

    I think that many of the recipes came from the old country. I wonder if they stole my Italian Grandmother's recipes because I could have sworn that she was in the kitchen lovingly preparing my meal as she had in the past. I was impressed from the beginning when I recieved this heaping bowl of salad that had just the perfect amount of Italian dressing and the garlic rolls were most memorable. I would have been content with that portion of my meal but I ventured on to the chicken that was seasoned perfectly and balanced with the right amount of sauce. I can only say good things about Altruda's because I had a fantastic experience. The best part of Altruda's is that it is independently owned so I know that the recipes are authentic and that the owner has a vested interest in my dining experience. If you are looking for a great meal with fantastic flavors....Altruda's is the place to go! I'll see you there because I will be back
