Named a National Historic Landmark in 1960, the site bore witness to the Battle of Bushy Run, which took place from August 5th to 6th, 1763. The British troops won a decisive victory against the Native Americans at Bushy Run, when, after overcoming severe losses, they were able to take control of the Ohio River Valley.
