About:	Having been slowly restored over the past 20 years, the Orpheum is now an astonishingly rich architectural treasure from the 1920s, with its statues, carved woodwork, velvet curtains and opulent lobby. This is the home of Opera Memphis , the Symphony Orchestra and the Ballet . It is also the venue for traveling Broadway musicals such as "Cats" and "The Phantom of the Opera". In the summer, the Orpheum shows classic movies like "Casablanca", along with trivia contests and sing-alongsfun for the whole family.

simply the best acoustically tuned venue in Memphis great for real music and musicals!!!! I am looking forward to the Jill Scott Concert in March 2008.

Awesome: This is an awesome theater if you're into vintage and nostalgic atmosphere. Simply beautiful! I would recommend to anyone with these interests.

Opulence meets Fanfare: The Orpheum Theater is one of the oldest buildings in Memphis but even in its age it lacks nothing is beauty and opulence. It is a concert hall (where i took my son to see INXS in April) and a live theater stage as well as where all Broadway and Off Broadway shows come thru Memphis. If anything it is just a place to *SEE* for all its age and beauty. Highly recomended.
