| About: | This place is a true southern originalperhaps the only hotel in the world where ducks live on the roof and ride the elevator to the main floor and promptly march to the lobby fountain every day at 10a. Restored to its late 19th-century elegance, the Peabody is the heart that pumps Memphis social life. On any given weekend, you can sit in the lobby bar and watch people come and go from charity events, weddings and high school proms. With its central location two blocks from Beale Street and its two superb restaurants, Capriccio Grill and Chez Phillippe , the Peabody is well worth the cost. Famous guests that have stayed here include Robert E. Lee and William Faulkner. A breathtaking view of the Albert Park Lake can be seen from the Grand Waldorf Ballroom. |

Travelers beware. As a business traveler, I stayed here 10/8 and could not wait to leave. The rooms were dirty, staff un-friendly and amenties were just terrible. After check in, was asked if I wanted a paper and internet service and declined however was told it was not optional and billed anyway. Plan on spending an additional 60-80 on hotel resort fees & parking. Customer service is just awful............I will never go back......
This hotel was so luxurious. The ducks (and the presentation) just topped it off.
I was lucky enough to stay on the concierge floor. I have never been treated so well in my life (thanks southern hospitality). Staying on that floor, you almost didn't have to eat out.
Be sure to catch all the hidden areas, like the rooftop deck and the swimming pool.
Staying here was the experience of a life time, and I highly recommend it.
Great Ducks!: Went to see the ducks and georgous hotel, nice staff and fun visit!
