Located in the downstairs retail space of the historic Gilmore apartment building, this restaurant and Italian grocery is a welcome reminder of a time when neighborhood shops graced every street corner. On offer along with pasta, soups and Italian desserts are Fino's popular deli sandwiches and other quick lunch items. Don't rush out if you have the time to sit and watch the world go by from this busy corner in one of Memphis' oldest and most interesting Midtown neighborhoods.
I was very disappointed by finos. Honestly I hate to say it but the worst Italian market I've ever been to. The service was not fantastic
People were nice. But very slow to do their job. Be prepared to wait for your order. Also a couple of my deli meats were stale and hard. Finos has an extremley limited selection of items. It's no market
I was not wholly impressed and they close so early. The sandwich I had was very large and at a great price, loaded with an olive salad (that did not have enough olive oil in it, but was tasty), meat, and cheese. The pasta salad is a mayonnaise base that is far too heavy and there are no flavors in it besides the mayonnaise. Not very tasty pasta salad.
Try it for lunch, you decide! It's most certainly not bad and it's not going to cost you much. Get a half sandwich- they're huge!
From the hill!: This is the best little grocery/restaurant/deli in town!Although I am limited in my total scope of food, because I don't eat pork, the New York sub with extra tomato and onion dressing is my favorite. The desserts, and side dishes are the best! When you go there, have an orangina soda with whatever you choose...and pick up a box of Torrones on your way out, too.
