| About: | The atmosphere at this diner-style cafe is so authentic that the place was used virtually unchanged in "The Firm", the Tom Cruise movie about a Memphis law firm. Bill Clinton is also fond of the Blues City Cafe. The decor is intentionally weathered, with corrugated iron and glass blocks. Diner-style seating offers a great view of the crowds on Beale. The best bet on the menu is that Memphis staplebarbeque. You can watch big slabs of ribs being turned on the grill while you drink a cold beer. The prices are slightly elevated because of the restaurant's historic location, but you can still eat for a reasonable price. |

I just completed my dining experience at Blues City Cafe and it was not impressive at all. The ribs looked like they came off of an oversized sow. They were tough and had no sauce to speak of. All of the hype about this cafe is way overrated. I asked for a piece of bread and never got it. I will be glad to be leaving Memphis because the food where I come from is much better.
The food was great! The atmosphere and the waitress weren't amazing, but the food made up for it.
The man at front door rushed us through our meal..was rude
I would not recomend this place to anyone unless you like bad behavior from staff
