The absolute best Tailor of all times, very professional.
I've tried for years to discover a good tailor. Most of my searching had been based on storefront appearances, location to home, etc. None of these were the way to go, and I knew that but, I didn't have any other options. Long gone are the tailors from Lansky's. Tailoring seemed to be a dying art. Finally after several ruined articles of clothing, I had gotten serious about finding a GOOD tailor. How??? I asked around, and around, and then around again. With a couple really good reviews of Shaboy's I was ready to give it a try. I even interviewed a customer of Shaboy's as he was leaving the store while I was entering. When I asked how Shaboy's was, he said, "I wouldn't bring it here if he weren't great!". I may have found my Picasso of pants. I took some "test" pants by along with a "challenge" article which was a silk-lined vest in need of some major work...I figured if this was another mistake, it shouldn't be over half the wardrobe by any means. Once inside, you'll find in Shaboy's that Mr. Shaboy is the store. He will meet you at the door, measure, mark, tailor, and ring you up. He is Shaboy's-all of it-and I wouldn't have it any other way. After dropping off the clothes, he gave me a ready date of approximately two weeks. This seemed fair to me as new customer; especially since I've seen the results of a one week turnaround before. On the morning of the pick up ready date, I received a phone call from Mr. Shaboy to say he had missed a little on his estimate and could I possibly come by tomorrow instead. Imagine that, a call to say he would be a day behind! Mr. Shaboy loves his work, he's proud of it, and, if asked, he will make you late for dinner as he takes you around his store to show some of his trickier jobs and his attention to detail. I suggest you do it! I did and I was impressed! I also know because I asked as I picked up my pieces, and it took over a half-hour to get my three articles picked up. Time well spent. I was shown the hems...he folded them this way and that to make sure I saw the exceptional work. He pulled out the vest from the plastic and it looked as though it had been custom made for me. Not a tread out of place. Every piece ironed, not a hint of an alteration from any angle. Not only that, we talked about his daughter, my children, my parents, his parents, his clients, and on and on. If you want a pair of pants hemmed so you can wear them, there are several places to go I suppose. If you want a true tailor, one who can do anything, for you, exceptionally well, and not push you out the door after you've paid, but instead take 10 minutes more to make you believe you've found a lifelong accquantice to share a story with, or the tailor to depend on when it's "got to be done right", then go to Shaboy's. I will wait patiently, and again be thrilled, that there are those who want to do something artfully, even though it means not maximizing profit, but instead to be great at one's art. I've found my tailor...go find your own!
At Shaboy's you can expect great quality and professional work for a great price with wonderful customer service.
