User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsBeware of reused chips and salsa and other side items, the owners treat their workers horrible! 95% are illegal aliens! They make them work from 9am to 10pm, 6 days per week! If they go to a church event, they are severly reprimanded! Some workers are as young as 13. They are forced to buy fake green cards to protect the owners. The waiters get paid $0 all they get are the tips left by the patrons. The people in the kitchen make only about $300 per week. The cook at El Gallero #2 (Which is another restuarant they own) is a wanted criminal! They sometimes use beef not FDA approved! This place is owned & operated by organized crime from Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico. I am an offical in the city government and I know they lost their liquor license due to nonpayment of taxes. They are currently under investigation. Do not support this slave labor farm.
User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIm giving this restaurant an average review. I love Mexican food and eat it all the time. I go to every Mex place in town wherever I move, and scale down to THREE just to change up flavor from time to time. This was in my top 3. No Longer. I had a snarky waiter that didn't realize that I speak a fair amount of spanish. Certainly, enough to understand his condescension. I smiled and didn't ask for much service, as usual. I also left him under a dollar...I am a great tipper. Next time someone at your local Mex restaurant says,"chupa..." think twice about your tip. I haven't been back since, and I don't know when I'll want to suffer that kind of SERVICE.

From a Texan, this is the best Mexican restaurant in town. I've tried Los Portales and it was OK, but thats not where I go anymore, try them, the food is better and everyone is nice
