Southern Rents

I chose Southern rents to supply items needed for my outdoor wedding, they were really my only choice due to the location of the event. When I spoke on the phone with them they were very knowledgeable about their rentals. This changed when I set up a time to drive 4 hours to their location to see the items I was renting. First of all they knew I was coming but as I had requested they had no picture of the tent I was renting, only "something like it". The chairs were filthy but the manager promised that "all chairs go through a chair wash, not to worry". I was very dissapointed when the chairs I rented for my wedding showed up and were filthy, many had bird poop all over them. I had to take very important time out of my big day to clean the poop so my guests wouldn't have to sit in it! They were timely in setting up the tent, though they brought the wrong sides, this was quickly remedied. I rented a coffe maker that brews the coffee but it didn't work - my uncle had to hold and jiggle the cord just to get the coffee to brew, unfortunately we found this out much too late. I must also say that the tent itself was very dirty, even the ceiling. I know things could have been worse but I wanted to give others an opportunity to check these things if you are considering renting from this company. As I said before they were very helpful over the phone but when time came for them to deliver their promises, they failed. My suggestion to them is to be a bit more organized, check for old or broken items they are renting and definitely get the "chair washer" fixed!
