I had the pleasure of living in Lawrenceburg for seven years and made it a point to go to square forty at least once a week. I have since moved back to Michigan and come back to visit once a year and always stop by square forty to have lunch. The cool thing is that I can go in there and the people who work there still recognize me (5 years after I moved away) and the food is still fantastic. The lady who runs the place even told me, "I still have some of your business cards." I sold cars down there and had some cards with my picture on them by the cash register. "I moved away," I told her. "I know--I just liked them so I kept them here." Wow--how about that? OK--to their food--the only place to eat catfish as far as I'm concerned, the deep fried pork chops are fantastic and we always went on "smothered chicken day." All you can eat and drink for around $6.00--you can't go wrong. Great atmosphere--probably my favorite restaurant in the world--too bad I'm 600 miles from it.
Consider me a "Regular": The Square Forty is great example of down home hospitality with superb service . The food is delicious and reminds you of southern food from the past. If you stop in, you will understand what a true bargain and pleasure it is to eat on the town square. I hope I see you there.
