OVPC is WORTHLESS!!!!! Go to Irie's next to ajax. Amazing new Seafood place on the square.
updated again on 11/27/09:
Out of all the lovely renovations, there are still problems with the original OVPC location. Granted, the building is ancient and one must work with what one has, BUT...it is so noisy that it's almost impossible to hear the person sitting across the table from you. The problem seems to be much, much worse since the walls were stripped down to the antique brick. The brick looks great, but it's terrible for accoustics. Please put some rugs on the floor. It would help tremendously. Secondly, they need more booths to alleviate the cramped table seating. Thirdly, the service is still spotty. The main issue is the noise and we often avoid the Oxford location for this single reason. I love OVPC, but I can't always take the noise. Sometimes you just want a nice, quiet dinner.
OVPC: updated for latest visit: Problems with service and unbalanced salad dressing seem to have been solved. There a new menu too, and everything we had was great. Way to go OVPC! (updated 06/23/07)
OVPC has good food, though the house salad dressing tends to be a bit unbalanced. They have fair service. Another poster described the service as snobby. It's not snobby, it's doped out (college kids.) Atmosphere is nice and the pasta dishes are way generous. I've never been disappointed with the food at OVPC, except for when I tried the grilled chicken sandwich. Their lasagne is a signature dish. Steer clear of the chicken sandwich if you don't like dry sandwiches. Also, don't do take out there. You don't get what you pay for. Overall, I give OVPC a 4 out of 5. Docked 1/2 for service issues. Docked 1/4 for having things on the menu that aren't up to par, docked the other 1/4 for the take-out issue. I will go back there...many more times. I also send other people there.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY!!!!!! REAL GENERIC FOOD NOT AUTHENTIC BY ANY STRECH........ BTW, MY FORK HAD LEFT OVER FOOD ON IT FROM THE LAST PATRON(S) AS WELL. YOU CAN THROW A ROCK FROM THERE FRONT DOOR AND FIND A BETTER PLACE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. GOOD LUCK......
