Fine Dining in the Delta: KC's Restaurant...ecclectic and esoteric...the best words to describe it. Owners Wally and Don Joe, who came from China in the sixties, built the restaurant in 1993. Formerly a Chinese Restaurant, it is now a four star restuarant which has been so declared by the Commericial Appeal(Memphis) and Clarion Ledger(Jackson,MS). Chef Joe takes from the French style, and Asian styles of cooking to form this modern American menu. For first course items you can enjoy, Gulf Coast Lump Crab and Shrimp Cakes, Key West Shrimp which is served with a Sesame Sea Weed Salad and Citrus Tobiko Mayonnaise, or a delightful Elk Quesadilla. The newest addition to this restaurant is the gourmet pizza preparation. These pizzas are hand tossed and a cut above the rest. Now to the good stuff...the entrees. My favorites on the menu are the Pacific Pastures Free Range Veal Ribeye served with a sun dried tomato risotto, oyster mushrooms, and a veal jus, The Grimaud Farms Muscovy Duck which is served with confit duck spring rolls, sweet potato puree, steamed vegetables and a black currant sauce, and finally the Maine Diver Harvested Sea Scallops served with couscous that contains edamame and shrimp, snow peas, and a hazelnut brown butter. After dinner you can enjoy one of the delightful desserts and coffees from around the world. Don't forget to make a trip to the wine cellar. Sommelier Don Joe has selected only the best of wines to grace his cellar. Price is reasonable for the quality of food and drink that you get. So if you're ever in Cleveland or going down highway 61...drop by KC's and enjoy a real meal. - Emily
