Dr. Johnston is a great guy and a really caring doctor. But, you better plan to take off half of a day if you want to see him. Appointments mean absolutely nothing and the staff could care less what your there for or when you made the appointment; you'll get a different story from every one of them. I've given it several chances and based on my last (and final) 5 visits, I've left without seeing the doctor due to obligations I'd planned for several hours after my appointments. Example: I once waited 2.5 hours for blood to be drawn. When my name was finally called, the weigh-in and procedure was done and I was on my way out the door in less than 90 seconds - yes, I timed it. It's unfortunate the office staff is the front line at MFMC with little to no customer service training. For me, there's too many other doctors and MEA's in the yellow pages - I'll never go back. Dr. Johnston and Dr. Black should have a firing spree in their office.
My husband and I have been using MADISON FAMILY MEDICAL CLINIC for years. Dr. Johnston and his staff are very dedicated and caring. If you every have a question they are glad to help. I have recommended them to a lot of the people I work with and they have all been very happy with their care. You are always greeted with a smile and a heart felt hello! They have even called as late as 6:30 P.M. with test results, so we wouldn't have to wait all weekend to find out the outcome.

I agree, the waiting time is unacceptable. Dr. Johnston is great and does take his time with you. Maybe someone schedules appointments too close together. The sign on the door says they open at 8 AM, I was there at 7:50 AM for my 8 AM appt. and the waiting room was already half full! The next visit I had was 90 minutes after my scheduled appt., I was there 15 minutes early, unnecessarily it seems. One patient took off 1/2 day from work just to sit in the waiting room for 2 hours. I will continue to go there because Dr. Johnston is worth the wait and I usually go to the doctor only once or twice a year.
