That is not SOLLYS Hot Tamales. If it was, would it not have Sollys on the SIGN. Those people are playing off of the real Sollys. These, at this place, are the worst tamales I have ever eaten.
Actually it is a branch off of Solly's, and there Tamales are the BEST, along with the shrimp boudins, and cheese burgers.
Actually the owner is Henry Sollys daughter. They cannot put the name on the sign because other people retained the name and building when Mr. Henry Died.
They cannot because the other place owns the name...not the recipe, though...seems to me they are the ones playing off of the real Sollys! Read the sign that IS outside...a family tradition...the owner of The Tamale Place is Mr Sollys daughter. The other place has absolutely NO relation by blood or marriage.
