Far better than a chain restaurant.: About 1995, I first heard about the terriffic hamburgers at Boro Family Restaurant, hamburgers made like I remember as a kid from the 1950s and 1960s, real hamburgers. As I made several trips from northwest Louisiana to New York several times a year, I decided to stop in Newton and give them a try. There were no disappointments, just as good as I had been told. Since then, I try to plan my departures and returns so that I can stop at least once per trip.

These hamburgers are hand formed -- not too thick and not too thin. They offer fresh cut home cut fries. Fresh cut french fries are not on the menu, but if you are very nice to the server, you may be able to have your fries fresh cut also.

I've tried other items on the menu and all were good, very good, so much better than what the typical chain restaurant offers. However, it is the hamburger that I order when I stop there. It's the finest. Wish there was one in Louisiana.
