I have eaten in many Chinese restaurants in the world. To me, eating good food is not just necessity but a past time. Learning about the grant opening of Panda Restaurant in West county, I eagerly wanted to try it out. Packed our two little girls in the family car, my husband and I recently drove 23 miles to dine there and was looking forward to some great Chinese food. The evening started out as a fun night family eating out but ended up being the worse dining out experience I've ever had in my life.
With two little kids, we always eat out early in the evening. Arriving at 5:30 PM in the restaurant, there was barely any customers. All but three tables of people including us. The staff was cordual at our initial exchange. The waiter took our order and we waited. We waited and we waited some more. An hour passed. Several tables of customers around us who came long after we arrived got served and left and we were still waiting for our food. I got the waiter's attention and he just mumbled something in the nature that the kitchen was out of one ingrideint of one thing we ordered. He said that he will check. So we waited and waited some more, another half an hour passed, and not even our appetizer was served. Our girls started getting fussy as it was edging toward their bed time. I got up and asked to speak to the manager. The manager said that he would look into it and disappeared, We waited and we waited some more, another 15 minutes passed and our food was no where in sight. I got up again and demanded to talk to the managing staff again. This time, we were told that food will be served soon. Meanwhile, many more people who came after us had been served and left. Then our waiter came out and announced that he had chosen another appetizer for us because what we ordered was out!! Finally, nearly 2 hours after we arrived, our food finally came. By then, my two girls were tired and fussy as it was their bedtime.
As the food hit my month, the sensation of all the seasoning was off balance overcame my senses. The noodle dish we ordered was mushy and bland. And a dish similar to sweet and sour dish was overwhelmed with too much suger.
We hastely finished eating and asked for our bill. We were charged for every single dime of the dish. I got hold of the manger again, fuming. After lots of negotiation, the manger took off $5 from our $45 bill.
This is a lesson learned. I will never step foot into that restaurant and hope to spare others from having to go through what we had.
I love this place it is very neat! The food is great so is the service. I love everyone in there they are so nice!!!!
We eat at Panda Palace at least 2x"s a month, more if we can. We love the food.
The one thing I didn't like is children at the Buffet but you have that everywhere you go. Parents should escort and serve children under 12.
