Had dinner for three today. Mistie was our server and she was very prompt, and made sure our glasses were filled. Started off with a Shrimp Cocktail. The shrimp was flavorful and the sauce gave it an extra kick, nice appetizer. I had the Bayou Special which is a snapper fillet which I chose to broil, it was topped with crab meat, and a creamy cajun sauce. The sauce was very good, I would of liked a bit more crab meat but what I had was spot on. The fish was cooked perfectly, had a very fresh taste to it. All of the flavors worked well. I opted for a baked potato. The coleslaw was good but I prefer mine a little sweeter than theirs was. My mother had the chicken with Monterrey jack cheese, she said her chicken lacked flavor and was dry. My dad had fried catfish with fries, and didn't say anything was bad. Based on this experience I would go back to McElroy's.
Service was great, but it stops at that point The seafood half & half they call it was 75% fries, very small shrimp and the stuffed crab was in a fake foil shaped crab shell and was awful i got the shrimp poorboy on small thin bread, and again 75% fries, we will never go back you would think right on the coast the seafood would be great. We live in Natchez ms. and have far better seafood.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Living on the coast my entire life I have been eating at McElroys since I could crawl. I was so excited after Katrina when the Ocean Springs location was open. I couldn't wait to eat there and feel some type of 'normallcy' after the storm. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!! I couldn't believe it! The food was WAY over priced! We recieved tiny shrimp, small potatoe, and some kind of tiny tortilla strips on the side to fill up room on our plates. Overpriced, horrible quality, and even worse service!

I was on vacation and decided to eat at this place..... What threw me off to began was that they bring out a basket of crackers with a big ball of butter on the top.... Where are the rolls are something that really go with butter..... Is this a Mississppi thing.. Then when I looked at the menu I thought it was overpriced even for a seafood place... but I thought they would make up for it in quility and porition.. I was wrong.. The food was ok and I wish I had more at the end of the meal. The service was not the worse but still FOOD is the main thing at a resturant. I would NOT recommend.
