Not only is the food amazing but the restaurant family is so welcoming. I worked there pre-Katrina as a hostess and loved every minute of it. Great times with everyone and unforgettable smiles. Thank you Mr. Steve and Mrs. Shandell for the experience. Great times with Nicole and Ronnie; it all worked in the end.
Wonderful!!!
My husband and I just had dinner there. I had the crab au gratin, there was so much crabmeat in it I couldn't eat all, so I had to take it home, can't wait till lunch tomorrow. My husband had the pan fried trout with a freemason sauce they make there, he still is gabbing how great it was. I have never seen him eat that much!! The service was great, the food was awesome and and the restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere. This is my new favorite place to eat.
Where do I start? It was Mother's Day. My family and I walked in with a party of 13. We were told it was reservations only. But, they would work us in. There were not advertisements inside or out that stated it was a reservation only day. This establishment does not require reservations any day of the year. We were seated in a nice banquet room. There was an extremely large palmetto bug (cock-roach) running across the floor. The waitress came and took our drink orders. She then copped a major attitude towards us. I wanted to order a muffalatta. The waitress told me she thought they were out of them and asked me what my second choice was. I thought she should have went and found out first. So, I went ahead and told her my second choice was an oyster po-boy. I did not know what I was going to wind up with until it came almost an hour later. My wife had to get up twice and ask for drink refills. I told the waitress 3 times I would like more water. I never got a refill from my waitress. I did get a refill from the second manager. Now, lets talk about the first manager which came out to answer our complaint about the rude waitress and lack of service. She advised us it was Mother's Day and they did us a favor by allowing us to eat there. She made sure she told us this in a loud enough voice that the other 4 or 5 parties in the room could hear and stare at us. This just made matters much worse. We spoke to another lady who sent the owner to our table. The matter was addressed again. The owner sent the first manager back out to apologize. I had to tell her to lower her voice because she was again loud enough for everyone in the room to hear our business. The waitress took my wife's entre' which she had barely touched after I had told her we wanted a to go box for it. But, she took it and did not return with it. I had to get the owner to get us another order of it. To top it off...the owner told us they would take 30% off the bills for the inconvenience. We all got our tickets and I noticed nothing had been taken off the bills. Over all, the service was horrible! The management was no better. But, the food was awesome. We will never go back to an establishment that treats their patrons as they are doing us a favor to allow us through their doors. I am not exaggerating. I promise! It was a horrible experience. I have been treated by waitresses in Waffle Houses at 3 in the morning.
