DISAPPOINTING! Okay I was originally going to rate it one star but that just seemed to harsh because it wasn't awful - we were just very, very disappointed. My husband and I just moved here and in doing some searching online I found that this was the highest rated Thai place in the Louisville area and it had all the "Best Restaurant" awards hanging behind the cash register to reinforce that. BUT I was so disappointed. Maybe they make great Pad Thai and we should have stuck with that but we ordered one of the more expensive Chef's Specialities and were surprised with what we got - a piece of unseasoned fried Red Snapper with nothing but some OK sauce on the side and garnished with some canned pineapple, maraschino cherries and celery - SO SAD! I had been craving some great Thai and was left so dissatisfied that we went out the next night to a Thai place in Jeffersonville and finally got our Thai fix. I'm sorry to say that I strongly disagree with anyone else who feels this place was a good representative of Thai food.
This is the most wonderful place to eat in Louisville, reasonable prices, and dinning room are pretty, Food are great, server pleasent, is the best Thai food in Louisville, Ky.
I ate at Thai Siam for the first time today. I'd like to mention that I am a tough reviewer, so three stars should be interpreted as outstanding for a restaurant at this price point. I started with the Tom Yung Koong soup, which was delicious and had surprisingly large shrimp. I followed that with the pork satay, which was pretty good, however the pork was a bit bland. Finally, I had the shrimp pad thai. Again, I was surprised at the quality of the shrimp being used. I've had better, but only in cities with much larger Thai populations. The service took a while due to staffing issues, however, when I was waited on, the server was attentive and outstanding. Certainly worth the money.
