I am assuming that everyone that gave this place a great rating does not get out much or equates snobbery with good food.
I am not sure that having manadarin oranges from a can and gnocchi that are not made from scratch constitutes good food.
For goodness sake I make my own gnocchi from scratch at home.
This is a a place that is fully of pompous waiters, treats their servers poorly and caters to a generation that felt this was what good service was all about.
I think that with the whopping bill I got, Vincenzo's needs to be really careful that they can survive this economy as the old folks that believe this is true and die out leaving us younger professionals that believe that value is measured by quality of food, friendly service and an inviting atmosphere of which Vincenzo's has none.
Please note that I travel the world on business, I am a trained chef and I am embarrased to say that the chefs at this location have completely lost sight of what is important.
Good luck if you last another 2 years.
Vincen-NOs!
We went on a weeknight and it was not very busy.
The positive: Risotto & salmon were very good, but not hot. Waiter service was good.
The negative: A plate & knife were dirty. Our cheesecake crust was burnt. Pricey dinner. Didn't feel very welcomed by maitre'd; we weren't told of any dinner specials.
They brought out hot plates and performed table-side service with portable stoves, but the food was not on the fire for more than seconds and ended up being barely warm.
Been to better up-scale restaurants in Louisville.
If you like Italian you are in the right place.: Graet restaurant for a first date or any speacial evening. The atmosphere is great alone with the service.
