Republic Theatres - Dixie Dozen

Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: We use to go to this theatre as a family, but the decline of the care of this place has given it a suitable name, "The Dirty Dozen." The refreshment stand needs a new name , day old stand. I have never tasted such stale popcorn in my life. They use to pop it right there as you wait in line to purchase a soda to go with it. Heck if I could I would bring my own popcorn. At least I would be able to eat it without tiring my jaws from chewing. This movie place will soon close just like the one further down in Shively.

Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: This place is a complete dump. Part of the reason it's a dump is because the customers that visit this theater are the types that also take no pride in their homes and other property around them. It's these types of people who will eventually migrate to the theaters on the east side of town and soon after those will also go to dump status. Even worse, they do charge the same price as the other places. I remember they use to charge $1.00 to watch a not so recently released movie there back in the 80's.

Never the less, The people that crowd this theater and talk over the movie and make it a not so enjoyable place to go are the reason this theater and area are going to (insert expletive here)
