Central Christian Church is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was founded in 1816. Built on the remains of a former Masonic temple in 1894, this Richardsonian Romanesque edifice is one of the attractive churches in town. It was renovated in 1935 after a fire ravaged it. Their campus is spread across four acres (1.62 hectares), it features the the beautiful sanctuary, a prayer garden and many other buildings for various church activities. The exquisite stained glass windows depicting various Biblical scenes are enthralling. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Less
