My prescription was CONSIDERABLY short. I had refills left, so I just thought I'd let it go and get it refilled when I ran out...not like you can prove anything once that bottle has left sight of the staff anyway. Well, they refused to refill it for me. They said it was too early. Keep in mind that I pay for my medicine. There's no insurance company to tell them not to fill it, so we can't blame it on them...this time. When I started to explain the reason why I had to call it in early to the pharmacist, she cut me off, became very defensive, called me a liar, and made some insinuations that I did not appreciate to say the least. When I became angry and told her that I do not appreciate being called a liar, she told me that I was no longer welcome at that pharmacy. I told her that I didn't want to be, after being spoken to like that, and she hung up on me. I am an upright man and 32nd Degree Freemason who takes honesty very seriously. I am a law-abiding citizen who does not appreciate accusations otherwise. Not only will I cease to deal with Kroger Pharmacy, but I will never set foot in their store again except to hand the shredded pieces of my Kroger card to the manager, which I plan to do when they're at their busiest on Saturday. As a matter of fact, this has prompted me to seek out a small, family-owned pharmacy where customers are treated like people. I understand that there are people who lie about and abuse prescription drugs, but there is no excuse for immediately taking that tone and having that attitude with a customer. Her defensiveness, in hindsight, actually made her sound guilty. I know of many people who really have been shorted of needed medication. I have seen nurses, in hospitals, pocket pills with my own eyes. I would also like to point out the fact that when my mother went in to pick up the prescription, the head pharmacist that she spoke to was a man, but when I called hardly more than two minutes later and asked to speak to the head pharmacist, I was put on the phone with a woman. There are many dishonest people out there, and I am not one of them. I don't deserve to be treated and talked to like one. I now have to go about a week without medication, putting myself at risk of seizure or even death. I did file a complaint with the BBB. I pray that somehow I can just get it to sink into her head that whatever you put out in the world will end up right back on your own doorstep. She may need medicine someday too, and if we were to trade places, I'd still see that she got what she needed.
