Giovanni's is a local classic. Great, great pizza, salad, subs, and calzones. Here's the main problem...the service at the Blackburn Branch is horrible. When the renovations were first completed, it was one of our favorite places to eat. Now however, we go pick it the pizza up from other locations. The staff is rude, innattentive--and even on the simplest orders--tend to give you the wrong order. Savannah, in particular, is atrocious. My suggestion is to skip the Blackburn branch completely and head down to Greenup Avenue. Same food, but a much more pleasant experience.

Not as great as the other said. I read the reviews and decided to try Giovannis, but it wasn't that great. I had the lasagna, and there was not enough seasoning in it. Stouffers makes a better lasagna. It was burned on the top and didn't have enough cheese. Someone else in my party had the calazone and said that the tomato sauce tasted like they just opened a can of tomato paste and used it, without adding anything to it. She used our bottle of Italian seasoning and sprinkled some on to make it taste better. While I was happy to see the calzones weren't flat and cheap, I overheard the manager yell at the person who made it that they were making the calzones too heavy. So, in other words, "be more stingy". The garlic bread was obviously made with toasted garlic powder. Roasted fresh garlic and toasted garlic powder have two different tastes. And it was gross.

We had ordered two large lasangas, a large calzone and side salads. It was enough to feed about six people. And cost about $25. So, it was an okay price if you aren't into flavor.

Giovannis used to be my favorite pizza in the world until the new ovens. The crust is totally different now and its not the same pizza. We have been going to Wheelerburg and Huntington for Pizza now. Now giovanni's tastes like Little Caesers or Domino's. Not eating those either.
