We looked forward to eating at Max's during our stop over in Paducah. I had been there before with good results. Friday nite 7:20. Walked in with our 11 year old daughter and encountered the single most rude host in my dining history. He rudely blurted out,"Do you have a reservation?" before we even asked. We said no, but how long was the wait. He told us that it would be 8:30 and I asked the current time. He said 8:20. I said we could wait 10 minutes. He then said it would be 9PM. I asked for his recommendation of the other restaurants in the historic downtown area. He said He had no idea...maybe try Outback!
This man should not be left alone to interact with potential customers. Too bad!
Absolutely the best food in Paducah. Staff is friendly, and attentive. My favorites are chicken gorgonzola, and cubano pork tenderloin. My wife enjoys the salmon and steaks. Maakers Mark cake is the best. Live appx. 70 miles from Paducah, but visit monthly just to eat at Max's.
The atmosphere is nice and cozy, but the food is very pricey for what we ate. Probably won't be returning.
