We arrived about 4:30 pm. The food was excellent. The chicken, shrimp, hamburgers and steak were out of this world good. The sides were delicious and the salad bar was filled. My mother-in-law only had the salad bar and was happily stuffed when she left. All dishes were tasty, hot, and delivered in a timely manner. We were extremely happy with the prices even with 7 in our group(three kids). Everything was clean and well kept. If we vacation at Mammoth and Kentucky Down Under again, we will definitely go there again. Thanks for the wonderful food Sahara!
They were literally out of everything we asked for drinks and food. Only one miller lite bottle in the whole bar, no vodka except skohl *sp, I wanted a hamburger but they had no hamburger meat, had to pay 17 bucks for a steak that was okay, but really fatty. No nacho meat and no salsa on the nachos, had to ask for jalapenos (when we swore they had written on the menu that it included jalapenos) and the waitress argued with us about that. Do not suggest unless your willing to eat and/or drink whatever they happen to have laying around and pay alot for it.
Best Steak I Ever Had: Ok. So it was in 1990. But it's stuck with me for the last 16 years. I'm sure the place has changed, but boy-oh-boy what a memory. It was the most tender steak I ever had. Didn't really need a knife. It was exaclty what a weary traveler (staying at a nearby hotel) needed. A steak, a cocktail, and a quiet atmosphere. Sure it wasn't plush, but it suited my needs on that hungry, lonely night. If I ever pass that way again, I will stop in for a meal. I just hope it meets the needs of even half of my memory.
