i have been going here for over a year now and i have noticed that service has always been a little on the slow side, and the food was mediocre, so i stuck with what i knew. i went here more for the scenery and the people then the food. I had always gone in during the late morning and early afternoon where there were only two or three tables full. I drastically made the mistake of walking in after 4pm to wait over an hour for food that had been burnt and soggy to the point of being uncuttable. i wont even go in for the pie's that they had since i found them at sam's club for a few dollars more then what one slice costs at Nick's. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be going across the street from now on.

Nick’s is one of the WORST places I have ever had the displeasure of walking into. After many years of living here in Utica and going in there to meet up with others I have to finally say I just can’t do it anymore. The service is so incredibly slow and I don’t think it is so much the waitresses fault as it is management and the cooks in the back. The waitresses at least try to do what they can with what they are given, it isn’t their fault that the cook cannot cook for more than one person at a time. Once you do get your food, if you can actually call it that it is unpleasing to the eye and their many so called special of the house items taste like they just opened a frozen dinner and plopped it out on a plate. If I want Swansen’s I’ll go to Wal-Mart, and not pay the over inflated prices at Nick’s…who charges 8 bucks for a hamburger? As one other reviewer has pointed out the ownership and management leave a lot to be desired, people who have anger management issues simply should not be in the service industry. Even the wait staff seems to be scared of saying too much.

This is one of the worst places to go in Utica! The service is a snails pace slow, you wait for an hour to 2 hours for your food, that is once you are finally waited on. They also have a bar where the owner likes to call people names and treats them as if he doesn't care to have your return business. I wish I didn't even have to give this place one star.
