    One of the better Japanese place in Columbus.: I've been to Japan and this Japanese place is great for being in Columbus. I been to JOR over 10 times and 90% of the time the food has been great. I love salmon and their salmon sashimi is awesome. The Korean short rib is fantastic too. Very buttery! The only bad thing is parking. If you have never been here and you like Japanese and Korean food, you need to try this place.

    favorite resteraunt in town: I have eaten here numerous times because of the genuinely friendly people that own it and work there, the relaxing non-pretentious atmosphere, the great service and the incredible food.

    A chance to sample the orient: I'm originally from Hawaii and Japanese so I am very, very jaded when it comes to Asian cooking. Fortunately the Japanese Oriental Restaurant is a good place for a fix of Korean and Japanese cuisine.

    And there's the caveat. It isn't JUST a restaurant for Japanese food, although it is good, and the sushi is good and affordable. (A challenge in any city.)

    The menu has a number of options from kalbi to pork tonkatsu to a multitude of sushi choices. It's also a small, cozy restaurant so a wonderful option for a date.
