I took my parents here and they loved the general atmosphere! I got just a regular cheeseburger and fries (the fries are delicious!!) It was a good meal, bun was crisp and not soggy, meat cooked right! I love this place! The only complaint I have is that the server was really fake and overbearing and took awhile to get my parents their drinks after they had arrived after me.
Lack of profession on the servers part will wreck this place!!! Went on a Saturday afternoon - only 3 tables full and the waitress was on a trip, like hurry up, you're my last table! I call her over once and she's like "what??". I finally told her to let us know when her shift ended so we could accomidate her schedule. Her runner forgot an entree (table of 5) - had to ask her about that. She finally calmed down around check time. We go out maybe a couple times a month and try to go at off times to enjoy ourselves. We had good service on other visits, but given the previous reviews, management don't care or don't know how to run a resturant. Avoid at all costs!!!!!
Okay food, poor service: I visited Barley's because it was right next to my hotel, and the front desk staff highly recommended it. I was a single business traveler, dining by myself. The service was terrible. I waited ages to even be acknowledged by my server, and had to ask several times for my check, among other problems. Inattentive would be too kind of a word. I had the grilled turkey applewood bacon sandwich, and it was very good (though the toasted bread was somewhat soggy). The friend cheesecake dessert wasn't what I had hoped. Not much taste to it, and a small portion covered in mounds of whipped cream. Thankfully the prices are reasonable, so I guess you just have to take it all in stride. I would not go back, though. I'd rather try somewhere else.
