| About: | This Asian restaurant offers both Japanese as well as Korean dishes. Sushi is the main attraction here. Contemporary-style entrees are served in a casual but upbeat atmosphere. Shoku has both modern and rustic touches, with ornamental Japanese art found throughout the dining room. The music and the young clientele make this a popular spot in Grandview. |

The atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly, but I've had better sushi from less "posh" places in Columbus. Parking was a challenge too, but that's Grandview. I'd go back only to change my mind. I honestly preferred the taste from other sushi spots.
The prices have gone up twice since I have last been to this restaurant 6 months ago. The pulled duck used to be delicious now it's just okay. The ambiance of the place is wonderful, but the prices are too high and you don't get much food in the appetizer dishes. Sushi is of good quality. California rolls are about the circumfrence of a quarter. Seems like they are getting smaller and smaller! The spider roll is delicious, but they have gone up in price for that as well. My bill came up to $85.00 that night for two people with 20% gratuitity added on! It used to be 15%! We still left unfullfilled.
I thought this place was great. Yes, it did take a while to get our food, but it was worth it. The Shoku Tuna was amazing, and I'm pretty sure everyone in our party felt the same about what they got. Try the pineapple upside down cake martini--it was delicious and fun. I'll definitely be going back for special occasions whenever I can!
