I've eaten lunch a lot of times at Sapporo Sushi Factory, including when it was called Sapporo Wind. My friends and I feel that we get a good meal for reasonable prices. I have no complaints or in my food selections. I especially enjoy their salmon and the miso soup. Join me for lunch sometime.
This place has been hit or miss for me now... When its a hit, its great. When its a miss, its not bad or good. A Friday night, it was great. Sushi was delicious, rice was slightly warm, and good service. Miso was very delicate which from what my friend told me is the right way. And the tempura was crunchy. I liked it so much I went back on a week day and was slightly disappointed. Fish was still good, but the rice didn't taste the same and service was very slow with only a couple tables. I'll be back for sure, but I'm sure it was just an off night for them. Sidenote, the sushi is made in the back, not at the sushi bar which just has boxes and cans in there?
Best in the MidWest: Sapparo is a hidden treasure in upper Westerville. First lets dispense with the bad. The location is not great, and the atmosphere won't compete with a more expensive place, like Haiku..........BUT, the food is of superior quality to any other sushi bar I've seen in Ohio, and the prices are ridiculously cheap for the food served. Mind you I'm from San Fransisco, and have had sushi all over California, and this is as good as any, at a fraction the cost. The Help is wonderful, the Chef, a genius. If you can put up with the raucous noise from the sports bar next door, you are in for a treat.
