Go Blue. Just kidding. Dale's is a mecca for OSU fans. You are surrounded by Ohio State memorabilia, and the owner is decidedly a "scarlet and grey" fan. So, you can imagine the crowd on that fateful fall day when the two schools clash. But no matter what team you support, you will support Dale's.
It's just a simple neighborhood bar, right in the heart of downtown Maumee, one of Toledo's southern suburbs. You can sit at the bar or in the bar area ... or opt for a table in the rear dining room. Either way, get set for some good all-American food. There are TVs almost everywhere, so it's sort of a sports bar.
Dale's is renown for its hamburgs. They are juicy, grilled to order, and a must - at least for the first visit. Of course, they have a whole menu full of other sandwich offerings. Take your pick. Most are worth a try. Their french fries are crinkle-cut and generally nice and crisp.
Another feature of Dale's is their soup. They prepare a number of homemade varieties and offer a soup of the day. The only item that was not really spectacular was the chili. I'd recommend the other soups.
The waitstaff is efficient and totally on-the-ball. At lunch, you used to stand in line at the window to place your order, but they changed the drill, and now there is table service all the time. The kitchen is a little slow, at lunch and most other times, too. So, if you are in a rush, you might think twice.
Dale's is great for a night spot, eventhough sometimes it's hard to hear the people you're with. They have good drink prices and good food. You have to try the Willy shroomaker it's great.
An ok sportsbar for the guys to hangout: Not alot in the wayof music except jukebox in the back of the bar,but the drinks are cheap..
