Friends from out of town staying downtown so where: do we take them to dine? Well in that the hotel they are staying at backs the hotel Sans Souci is in, Sans Souci it is.
We don't get here very often. They're downtown in the Tower City, Public Square area and we live in the 'burbs. And every time we do go there we wonder why we don't go more often. We will have to rectify that problem.
It's a smart room 'tho large it doesn't feel like it the way it's sectioned. Some stairs required to enter. They refer to themselves as Mediterranean, whatever the food is wonderful. We started (3 of the 4) with 'toonis with blue cheese stuffed olives. That's freshly stuffed so don't buy that stuff in the store cuz they're terrible. Wine? Oh yes and it was a reasonable price ($33) I didn't recognize the name but it was very, very nice. While their menu varies it's usually variations on a theme. The strip steak I had was absolutely wonderful. A ravioli appetizer had all four of us raving about how good it was. The pork tenderloin was 'melt in your mouth' tasty.
Our waitress was a doll. Fun, helpful, prompt and informed. We had such a wonderful time at dinner that we all partook of some desert but I can't get into that in case my doctor reads this report. However let me just say that the triple chocolate thingy was wonderful.
This restaurant is like a trip to Napa!: Our favorite place in all the world is the wine country in California. If you love the food, ambience, service and romance of the Napa area, you will fall in love with this restaurant. We had impeccable service from our waiter, David and are looking forward to our return visit already. The food was creative, fresh and each bite was flavorful. We also felt very comfortable here which isn't usually the case with many 5 star restaurants. This restaurant didn't give us that stuffy feeling either. Overall my husband and I would give this restaurant 10 stars if we could. Living in the Dallas area we have many dining choices available to us and this will remain our favorite because all of the bases are covered here including the romantic atmosphere. Keep up the great job everyone! Thanks for a wonderful evening. Bill and Pam
You know you've been served...: Flawless seating, superb staff, delicious cuisine...sumptuous wines.
