Gms Management

Whatver you do, do not rent from GMS properties. We rented an apartment (our first ever) and have nothing but issues with GMS. They are in the process of trying to bill us for the month PREVIOUS to the one in which we moved in.


We moved into our apartment in April, on the first. Our lease states April 1st. They are billing us for March. Tell me in what world it makes sense that we would pay for an apartment that we weren't living in?


The apartment manager that is here on the premises agrees with us and is working towards a resolution for us. So far, this has dragged on for over five weeks now, and though we have continued to keep current with our rent, GMS has issued eviction proceedings against us.


On further investigation, GMS has had 6 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau in the past 36 months. Of these 6, they have only resolved one. They will soon have another complaint.


If you are considering GMS, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The apartments are over priced and in poor condition compared to other apartments in my area. I have lived at two different GMS managed locations in Ohio. The first apartment had many problems and none were ever fixed. I eventually had to move out early and transfer to a different complex. The leasing offices can not do anything and tell you to call the main offices who never answer and will never call you back. Which leads me to my second time around. They say you will receive money off rent for referring people to move into GMS managed apartments. The money off rent you will never see and when I tried to use it I was hit with an eviction notice. So expect the worse or move in somewhere else.

I'm being taken to court because I had someone move into my apartment--even after having this person fill out an application for moving in. They even have an answering system set up to avoid talking to people that have been ripped off by them in this manner. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!
