These people suffer from delusions of adequacy. On 11/8/08, I called the dealership to check availability of a 2002 Ford F150 listed on Autotrader + Cars.com. A woman answers the phone, ignores my question about the truck and starts interrogating me (address, telephone#, cell#, E-mail address, etc ) and even asked "what other vehicles I was interested in" "in an effort to serve me better."(guess buying one vehicle is not enough.) I told her that if she wanted to serve me better, she could tell me if the truck was available. After some back and forth, she put me on hold. She then puts me on the phone with another Gentleman who cannot answer a simple yes or no question and puts me on hold again. Understanding that I was 45 minutes away, He then gets back on the phone and tells me that it is available. I drive to the dealership, and am greeted by a salesperson. I asked for the gentleman that I spoke to earlier. I then notice a gentleman who appears to be standing upright courtesy of a large desk. He introduced himself as a manager and left. The gentleman that I spoke to on the phone then comes over and says to me that he wishes that I would have given my cell # (I did twice) because then he would have told me that he was told by the lot man that the truck was sold yesterday. After thanking him for needlessly driving 90 minutes and 59 miles out of my way, I left. Approximately 30 minutes later, my cell rings,It is the dealership.Another gentleman states that I expressed interest in a 2002 F150 and that they have the truck in stock. After reviewing the incident 30 minutes before with him, he hangs up on me. Absolutely remarkable and incredible. Avoid these people like the plague.
