   MoreBauman Orchards, located in Rittman, Ohio, was started by Ben Bauman in 1929. The orchard, began with just 18-acres of growing space, is now spread over 117-acres. It offers peaches, plums and sweet corn, apples, homemade pies, cookies and gift baskets. Bauman Orchards has 20,000 apples trees of 25 varieties, 3,000 peach trees of 15 varieties that include white peaches and Red Haven. The orchard presses and pasteurizes its own cider from September through May. Its retail farm market is open throughout the year. Bauman Orchards purchased Scenic Ridge Fruit Farm in Jeromesville in 1998. It consists of more than 84-acres of fruit trees, strawberries, grapes, sweet corn and other vegetables. School tours are offered Monday through Friday in September and October. Each child receives an apple handstamp, a coloring book and a plastic sipper filled with Bauman's cider. Less
