Maybe it was just an off night for them at Sakura, but I wasn't impressed by the sushi or the speed of service. As I was one of only two parties in the restaurant it doesn't seem to be a very popular place. I also found them to be a little more expensive than other sushi restaurants in the area.
I've been to 40 states in the past three years, and I can't find anything that comes close to this little gem without spending at least 2 and a half times as much. Sakura is usually very quiet, not often filled to capacity, and very clean as well. Even on snowy slushy days they keep the floors squeaky clean.
Some eastern restaurants think that the "presentation" is done on the walls, lights, and foyer... this place is simpler than that... the presentation is perfected on the plate. The rest is just simple and quaint.
I took some family to a Christmas day dinner here and for no apparent reason got 50% off of my meal. I guess it was just a present! I don't go there often enough to have won any brownie points, and their prices are not really high to begin with, so I just don't understand the reasoning here... but it prompted me to write this review.
In 10 or 12 meals I have not had any less than a perfect dining experience.
Great sushi!! My boyfriend and I are on the hunt to find the best sushi in Akron/Cleveland area, and so far this is it! Who knew? It's just a cute little place in a shopping center! The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, the sushi is fresh and DELICIOUS, and the server was extremely accomodating and gave good recommendations. We can't wait to go again!
