I was having a problem with my account so I asked Nancy a teller at first merit for help with it. I would have had more luck talking to a wall. While she was helping me with the account she miss advised me several times on amounts of deposits to stop more NFS charges hitting my account.Over the 8 days that she was assisting me I went from 2 NSF charges to 9. While she was
looking into the problem she neglected to tell me that because of the fist fees coming out that it Caused more overdrafts. I found out about them through the mail instead of her. First merit enjoys
snowballing your account and taking up to 5 days to inform you that they have taken fees out for NFS charges so you end up with less money than you think you have which just results in more
FEES the Customer Service is horrendous This account was five years old And I have had no problems with the account before. The first time I need assistance from the bank to help me
figure out what needs done to straighten it out they did nothing but make matters worst
DO NOT BANK AT FIRST MERIT AND DO NOT ASK FOR HELP FROM NANCY ATTHE SHARON CENTER BRANCH

I understand your frustrations. I had a similar checking account problem with National City Bank in Seville but the assistant manager removed my fees of over $100 and then helped me to better understand the changes in checking deposits and time frames enacted my the government.
