I had a mixed experience with sugar showcase when they made my wedding cake. at the consultation, the woman i spoke with was very nice and helpful, we joked around for almost half an hour. but when i went back for an appointment 6 months later, the same lady was extremely rude. she acted as though i was wasting her time even though the whole appointment took about 10 mins. i felt as though since they had my deposit and my business now, they could treat me however they wanted. also, they make you put a $60 deposit for the cake seperaters that is returned if you bring them back after the wedding. for the cost, i was expecting something nice, but it turned out they were cardboard circles wrapped in tin foil. my caterer threw them away bc they looked so cheap. that was worth $60? the last thing was you get a sample of all the flavors you choose if you call a week in advance what samples you want. so i called and told them what flavors and what day i would be in to get them, a week later i showed up and they only had one of the three. i lived a 45 min drive away, so i found this extremely unprofessional. but the cake was tasty and looked great and i suppose thats what mattered in the end.
the store is well stocked with a wide variety of candy and cake making supplies, most of which cannot be found anywhere else in the local area. definately a saving grace for those of us who love to create beautiful and delicious confections. the staff is very knowledgable and friendly, willing to offer their help to anyone from novice to more experienced bakers. i am so happy to see a local, family-owned business last for so long in our area!
By the helpful online information supplied by Sugar Showcase, I am extremely motivated to visit your store. It is extremely helpful to NOW know that I should be searching for culinary-type wooden dowel rods, in lieu of lumbar yard or metal rods for baking ladylocks. Does your store supply such rods or do you have a catalog to which I can subscribe?
