This is a hospital in which bedside manner is kept at its' highest. I was misdiagnosed at a hospital out of Springfield, Ohio. Assuming my diagnosis at Mercy Hospital was correct, I continued taking medications that were ultimately found to be the cause of my illness. While visitng my parents in Massillon, Ohio, I was rushed into the emergency room at Aultman and was taken care of right away. The doctors there took every precaution to make sure their diagnosis was accurate and side effects of my misdiagnosis were treated. I spent 5 days in the hospital. The nurses were available and the doctors were caring. I give this hospital high marks for patient care and their medical knowledgeable staff.

I was taken to Aultman ER very early this morning for 'total body muscle spasms'. I have been getting these for about a year and no doctor at Aultman has ever tried to find out why I have them. I do have MS, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, IBS/Crohn's, so the spasms
are most likely caused by my MS.
The attending doctor was Dr. ( and I use the term loosely) W. Russell. Dr. Russel had taken care of me recently in ER for the same thing, but every total body muscle spasm I have had is different in intensity, therefore every one of them are different. Dr. Russell let me spend three hours of agonizing painjust because he has diagnosed me as having these spasms from a psycological problem. That I am controling them, therefore he would only give me a childs dose of a muscle relaxer and pain med. He told me that this spasm was the same as the one he had taken care of for me a few weeks ago, therefore he would not give me a narcotic drug tr relieve the spasms.
I left Aultman ER in worse condition than when I first arrived, all because this so called doctor diagnosed me and refused to take care of my medical needs because he made the decision and he is the doctor. Guess what? He was totally wrong.
When I go into ER I expect for my immediate problem to be taken care of, and to be either admitted to the hospital, or referred to a specialist that will diagnose my problem. Dr. W. Russel played God with my life and he had no right to do this. He refused to take care of my pain. The attending nurse even commented that she felt very wrong about releasing me in the condition I was in.
At Aultman ER, the kind of treatment you recieve depends on which doctor is working at the time you go in. As far as I am concerned, if I didn't have to go to Aultman Hospital because of my insurance coverage, I wouldn't set foot in that ER again. I was in such agonizing pain while there, worse when I was released, and in the condition I was in, was a prime candidate to stroke out. That doctor should be knocked off of his high horse and get a reality check. He definitely should not be working with live people. Then he could play God or whatever he thinks he is. But in my eyes, he has
no compassion, and compassion is what good doctors posess.
we love it: I love going to Aultman Hospital, they are so friendly and I will always go to aultman for all my needs,

2 hospital's and misdiagnosed at both. Perhap's you gave misinformation to the other hospital's of your symptoms which may have contributed to your "misdiagnosis"
Or, perhaps, as has been my experience with various family and friends, the other hospitals actually did mis-diagnose that person. I have seen it happen several times myself, and my family and friends all have excellent success there.
My mother was also misdiagnosed at Mercy Hospital and almost died from drugs that were wrong for her. Aultman diagnosed and treated her correctly. We were very impressed with the way their security & valet service worked together to keep the grounds safe for the visitors.
