The pizza is good enough. The dough is a bit sour-tasting, the sauce is the consistency of refried beans--I've watched them as they plop a chunk on and mash it down rather than pour or spread it on. I think the extremely high garlic content is the best thing about it--but I am a fan of garlicky stuff. It does stay with you for days and, if you are prone to heartburn, pre-dosing with antacids would be the way to go. Also, If you don't care for garlic, it's best to avoid the neighborhood altogether--you can smell it down the block.
Even if you order ahead, you can often still end up waiting up to a half hour of 45 minutes after you get there--with an average of 20 other people in a room slightly larger than a postage stamp. And you will pay dearly for the privilege of eating this legendary food--it's twice the price of other pizza in the area. To be fair, though, it's really filling and you'd probably get by on two pieces even if you normally eat three or four.
I guess the bottom line is, while I do enjoy eating the pizza, I resent the fact that, since they know that they have a cult following, they seem to believe themselves to be above concern about their prices, speed, or friendly service.
We've been eating Coccia House Pizza (about once a week) since 1960. We raised our 4 children on Coccia House Pizza and our 10 grandchildren are also being raised on Coccia House Pizza. Best pizza in the world!
I first had Coccia House when I was 6 and went to my parents' class reunion at Wooster. Maybe it's that memory, or maybe it's the quaint setting of Wooster, but whenever work takes me that way, I try and either grab a bite or get pizza to go (I just got one tonight; the person's recommendation for what I should get has been spot-on!)

If you fancy yourself a food critic, you will need to get your facts in order first. Please allow me to correct your review. The sauce is thick but far from the consistency of refried beans. Take it from someone who has had the sauce down the front of her shirt many times. Secondly, the pizza prices are comparable to other pizza establishments. Of course, you can go to Pizza Pan and buy one get 27 free if you like the taste of cardboard. I usually spend $21 at Coccia's for an antipasta salad & a pizza for myself & 2 kids, and I'm glad to pay it. We can't eat for that amount at most other places. So, with that being said, those of us who will eat this pizza 'til we die are hoping folks like you will free up some room in the crowded waiting area by taking your business elswhere.
