    In addition to great food, the place is a mini-museum. Ask the owners about the secret compartment in the barback that hid the old-time betting slips or the hole under the bar where previous owners hid the nightstick used to quiet rowdy patrons.

    This place is awesome. The food is cooked to order and 99% of it is homemade. Johnny's is also a great place to view a lot of Shelby's history. The owners are more than willing to explain and take anyone and everyone back through time to help you see how Shelby has changed and the Shelby that once was. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. They also feature daily specials which is a great fast way to get a whole meal. Check them out at least once, I promise that you won't be disappointed.
