A must see: Even if you only go to see Union Terminal, this is a must see for anyone travelling to or through Cincinnati. Union Terminal is a wonderful example of 1930's art deco styling with huge, unique mosaic murals portraying Cincinnati's history around the rotunda. It was a huge rail hub before and during WWII. They now give free guided tours of the Terminal which takes you into the old mamnger's office and areas you would normally never get to see. Couple that with some great museums and outstanding changing exhibits (like items from the Titanic and an exhibit of items from the Vatican, some of which had never been displayed before),as well as an Imax theatre, and you have much more than a full day's activities available. The musuem store has some interesting items as well, some for kids and some for adults. I highly recommend a visit here.
History, Children's and Cincinnati: Contained in one of the great buildings of the city is three museums in one. The History museum houses your normal guideline such as Dinosaur bones and other ancient remnant. The Childrens Museum is a fun interactive place for the kids to play and learn. The Cincinnati side runs through our history and impact in the area. Very affordable with a season pass that includes parking and discounts at the stores and the Imax theater. Family fun and learning.
Cincinnati Children's Museum: The Cincinnati Children's Museum is in the basement of the Cincinnat History Museum but that doesn't seem to bother the kids a bit. If I were a kid I would want to be locked in here for just a night. They have a treehouse, legoworld, playtown, and much more. It is my only bargaining chip to use with my granddaughter...she wants to go there everyday! This is one place that you can pay $7 a head and be there all day and have to pull your child out because they are having so much fun.
If I had to complain about anything it would be that the food is overpriced and leaves a lot to be desired. But I would advise you to eat before you leave or when you leave the museum. The price of admission is perfect!
