About:The oldest tavern in Cincinnati, this bar and grill was established in 1861 and serves an array of traditional Italian and American dishes, as well as fresh soups, salads, and unusual desserts. Traditional music is also performed nightly. They are open Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner and open on Saturday for dinner only; closed on Sundays.

    Go to hang out with interesting folks: Truthfully, I don't go for the food. I tried my friend's bruschetta-eggplant appetizer and almost choked from the amount of balsamic vinegar used on it. But we had a terrific time, because Ricky Nye was banging on the piano and a vocalist accompanied him with some Billie Holiday favorites. It's easy to strike up a conversation with people at Arnold's, and the partially outdoor (and heated) patio is wonderful.

    my hideout downtown: I get peace and quiet here. they seem to respect the past. Which I like.
