Here's my two main tips for the Executive Chef. Every fish you serve should be paired with a sauce. It does not count if the waitress tells you they have Tartar sauce, that is for the Gorton' s Fisherman, not for the patron looking for a semi-creative fish dinner. Second, when you serve raw Oysters, it is best to eat them ice-cold, and cleaned thoroughly, it is really an unpleasant experience eating a tepid, gritty Oyster. Dayton deserves a bit more and you can do better.
Love it!: The food is great! It's a little on the expensive side, so we mainly head there for celebrations. The decor is very eclectic, from turn of the century photos, to African terrain lithographs.
Call ahead for reservations: Wonderful food here, but to avoid lines, call ahead and reserve a table.
This restaurant does get a bit crowded, and while it is true that the tables are a touch more than close, it is easy enough to talk to those at the table but the surrounding noise will be just enough to give your conversation privacy from other tables.
The decor is very nice...especially the bar and the lighting, which seems very dated and attractive.
All the food is good here, and the prices are nice and not overly inflated. There are tons of great desserts, but my favorite is the bourbon pecan pie, which is tdf.
