I recntly moved to Ohio and heard that this place had won all kinds of awards forbest pizza in the Dayton area. Frankly,I was shocked. I LOVE pizza and this is the first place I have EVER gone that I would never eat at again. I dont know how it won so many awards but I thought it was like eating saltnes with tomat paste and fake cheese. I dont know what you all are used to in this area, but think this pizza place lacks serious character. Dont even ask about the feeling and decor inside the place. I felt more lively people and decor in a morgue.
The price was decent, but not for the product you get. Seriously, save your money and time and go buy ANYTHING else from ANYWHERE. Lets just hope that the voters wake up and actually try some decent pizza before voting again.
My family moved to Ohio in 1980. We soon found the Marion's in Beavercreek shortly after that. I remember we used to go there after my sister's dance recitals, and it was always great pizza. To me it is so much better than Cassano's(too salty on crust).
I liked it so much I actually worked there twice at the same location. First as a pizza maker/counter help then as a bartender serving the drinks and beer. Now admittedly there are times(Fri & Sat nights) that it gets crowded and can take awhile to get food but is understandable.
I have literally seen lines going out the door and around the corner to get in there to eat. Plus there is the game room to occupy the kids while you wait. Kudos to Marion's for a great pizza experience in Beavercreek!
There's something about marions (that I like): I grew up in centerville oh....there is a marions there.
Personally, LaRosas is my favorite, BUT, there is something so wonderful about marions pizza. First, they make very very thin crust pizza, and it is always a little black in spots on the bottom...sign of a good oven. Second, their sausage topping is so fine and crumbly...I love the way it falls out everywhere when you bite into the tiny square cut pieces. Third, the tiny square pieces. They also offer sauerkraut on pizza, which I have never tried.
When I was a kid, they made deli sandwiches using soft pretzels instead of bread. I don't know if they have those anymore, but wow, were they ever good.
