We purchased a Ridgeway grandfather clock from Belpre Furniture a couple of years ago. The clock quit working after 2 weeks. I called and they said they would send someone out to take a look at it. I recieved a call on my cell phone saying they would be out on Monday. I asked what time they said they could not tell me. I then asked for a call about an hour before they would arrive because my wife and I both worked. The guy said that was not there policy to do that. I told him it was a lot to expect someone to miss work and wait all day for a repair call. All I asked was a call and I would be right there. He just said no they would not do that. I have had other repair work and delivery from Lowe's and they will give you a call so you don't have to wait all day. The guy was rude and just said that was there policy and if I didn't like it I could bring the clock to them. A big grandfather clock!! Then he said I could leave the house unlocked!! I told him that was not acceptable and that I would contact the manufacturer. We hung up and a couple of minutes later I got a call from the owner and he told me he did not appreciate me making a threat to his employee. I did not threaten him, just said I would contact the manufacturer. I then explained my situation and all he said was that was their policy and if I didn't like it "tuff". I told him I could not believe this kind of an attitude from a small business. I stated I would never come to their place again and would also let people I know about this. It is amazing that a small business would have this kind of attitude towards their customers. I have talked to others that have had the same kind of customer service. And as you can see, all the reviews here are negative. I don't like the big stores, but will never purchase anything at Belpre Furniture and will continue to discourage others.
Buy the way, Ridgeway sent a repairman and fixed the clock. Good clock. Lousy service from Belpre Furniture.
I wish my wife and I would have read the reviews about BFG before buying a sectional couch. We great service from the sales person and purchased the couch March 18. They told us it would be 4 to 6 weeks before delivery. I called the sixth week to confirm time and delivery date and they told me there was a "fabric delay" and they would call us when it would be scheduled for delivery. Long story short; I called every week for the next six (6) weeks and they would tell me something different or they would just not return my calls. Asked the manager of BFG for an explaination and a compensation for the untimely manner and neither could be met or considerable. He said the best he could do was a unscheduled delivery of our choosing at no cost. Big Deal, we had free delivery and what would be four more days without a couch when we have been without a new couch for 11 and a half weeks. I could have waited another four days for some kind of other compensation. Good luck to the next buyer because I will not buy there again. There are to many other furniture stores within the area that could use our business.
I AM ALSO VEY DISSATISIFIED I JUST BOUGHT A COUCH FROM THEM AND THEY SAID 3 TO 4 WEEKS IT WILL BE IN. WELL AT THE END OF FOUR WEEKS I CALL AND THE COUCH IS NOT HERE. SO I THEN ASK FOR MY MONEY BACK AND THEY SAID NO. NEXT THE MANAGER GAVE ME THE RUN ARROUND UNTILL HE COULD GET MY COUCH THERE. I SPOKE TO HIM PERSONALLY AND HE LIED TO ME SAYING IT HAD BEEN THERE THE DAY BEFORE WHEN I WAS THERE THE DAY BEFORE AND THEY SIAD IT WOULDN'T SHIP FOR 10 DAYS. SO AFTER A LITTLE OF INVESTIGATING HE HAD THE THE SAME COUCH AT THE OTHER STORE AND GOT IT FROM THEM THE DAY AFTER I WENT UP THERE. SO THE MANAGER OF THE STORE HAS NO PROBLEM LIEING TO YOU I JUST THOUGHT PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THAT
I WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING THERE AGAIN AND I HOPE YOU MAKE THE SAME DECISION.
