I grew up in Anderson, and I honestly don't think there's a better restaurant in this town! I hate eating at chain restaurants, and this one is by far the best. Even when I moved on to bigger and better cities, I had problems finding Mediterranean food that tasted quite so great. The owners are both Egyptian at least one of them is there at every point during the day. They care about their business, and it truly shows in the quality of food.
Another reason I love this restaurant is because I'm vegan and I live in freaking Anderson Indiana. Right? Anyway, this place is the best because while they have things like Gyros and Lamb on the menu for everyone that loves to eat meat, they also have both vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The most I have to ask for is no cheese on my salad, order things right off the menu, and my dinner buddy can get their meat and cheese feast as well.
I'm also pretty sure that The Nile has the best beer selection in town. My personal favorite: Old Engine Oil. Seriously? It's awesome! They also have a lot of wines and a full coffee bar.
I recently found out that they also started having a hookah nights on the weekends. I haven't been to one of those yet, but plan to update once I have....
Also, I noticed that a lot of reviews said the place is pricey. I don't really think they are. I mean I guess it depends on if you go for lunch of dinner. I can get out of there for around $10 or less at lunch. At dinner, it's usually around $15 for my dinner. That's pretty comparable to what I spend in most sit down restaurants. I guess it just depends on your definition of pricey. Also, I suppose you could spend more depending on what you tend to order, etc....
Not a lot of food for the price. If you are hungry, go someplace else
Really enjoyed the food, The belly dancer was fun.

yeah, go stick your nose in the trough with all the other sows at ole country buffet or golden corral if your REAL hungry! This is not some smorgasborg...it's good food that is different from anything else in that area, period!
The Ole Country Buffet or Golden Corral? Have you ever even been to Anderson? The Old Country Buffet closed many, many years ago, & I don't we've ever had a Golden Corral.
