Original Pancake House

Will not ever return. My 7 year old son and I went on 8/1/09 and was waiting in line behind two other couples. Five minutes later, two larger groups arrived and were seated immidiately. We were given some lame explanation that only larger tables were available and it would only be a few more minutes. My son looked at me and said he didn't want to eat there anymore after being passed in line by the two groups. It's a shame that they would overlook the hungry child left standing (no place to sit) by the front door to seat the larger party who would no doubt spend more money there than us.

Great food but expensive: The food is awesome and there are many options, but I wouldn't go there a lot just because of the cost. For special occasions its a great choice.

The Original Pancake House: Truly Original: My wife and I love to go to this place for breakfast. It's a chain, but you would never know it by the quality of the food, and the more than reasonable prices. If you're a breakfast food junkie like I am, this place is for you. They have a tremendous assortment of pancakes and waffles, and all the ones I've had there are excellent. As well, the normal breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, and so on) are all quite tasty and prepared to order. I highly recommend the fried potatoes - yeah, so how good can fried potatoes be? There's something about these that are beyond your normal fried starchy root, so give them a try. Oh, and lest I forget, the apple pancake, while unusual in appearance, is quite excellent (judging by those that have eaten it, something I have yet to do).

The prices are more than reasonable, and the portions are out of this world (so if you're watching what you eat, I recommend that you either share with someone or order toast.) The orange juice is somewhat expensive for the amount you get, but as it is fresh-squeezed (and not from yucky concentrate), it is well worth it.

I highly recommend this place - it is truly an original!
